TR-51 Mesh Network

TOREA

Overview

TOREA is a sovereign, secure, software-defined mesh networking system designed to enable resilient communications for autonomous defence assets across underwater, surface, and LEO satellite links. It forms the encrypted backbone for distributed maritime data exchange.

Built to interoperate with MANU relay nodes, TOREA orchestrates burst communications across acoustic, optical, RF, LoRa, and satellite pathways — ensuring operational agility and situational dominance in GPS-denied, contested environments.

Mission

To deliver a sovereign, secure, and dynamic communications mesh for autonomous maritime systems — enhancing distributed operational capability across sea, surface, and space domains.

Core Attributes

Multi-Modal Switching

Acoustic, optical, RF, LoRa, and satellite burst pathways with dynamic selection based on threat environment and link quality.

Sovereign Cryptography

Encrypted, authenticated dynamic routing compliant with STANAG standards and Type 1 readiness requirements.

Modular Architecture

Containerised software stack supporting diverse node types with rapid integration and deployment capabilities.

Self-Healing Resilience

Engineered for dynamic re-routing and autonomous network recovery in contested and degraded environments.

Development

Developed with an agile-first methodology focusing on modular software prototyping, field experimentation, and integration with sovereign manufacturing partners under AUKUS Pillar II frameworks.

Strategic Alignment

Supports distributed autonomy, resilient maritime ISR architectures, and rapid operational command cycles — directly aligning with Five Eyes maritime communication doctrines and sovereign capability objectives.
